THE VISION
The National Congress of Black Women (NCBW) is a non-profit organization, founded in August 1984 to encourage the increased participation of African-American community in local and national political processes originally founded by the Honorable Shirley Chisholm and elected as the first National Chair of NCBW.
Since the establishment of the initial chapter in 1984, numerous chapters have evolved throughout the United States. The Prince George’s Chapter Prince George's chapter was established in 2011 by Dr. Evelyn Y. Jenkins.
Our members work diligently to ensure that the organizational vision of Shirley Chisholm is continuously realized.
